Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the DNA testing process take to receive my DNA results?
There are no set turnaround times for when results can be completed. This is due to the embassy’s workload. The average turnaround time could be around eight weeks, but it could be longer.
Once all DNA samples arrive at the laboratory, the turnaround time for results is three business days. Once the testing is complete, you will be notified with a status update on your results. The results will then be sent directly to the requesting immigration agency, and the laboratory will mail and email a copy of your results to the petitioner.
How accurate are my DNA Testing results?
All DNA samples are collected and analyzed by our partner AABB-accredited laboratory and meet strict industry standards. DNA test results showing 99.99% accuracy or higher are accepted by USCIS and U.S. consular offices and are used to confirm biological relationships for visa and CRBA applications.
When can DNA testing be performed for immigration visas?
DNA testing for immigration visas should only be performed after receiving a USCIS I-130 Request for Evidence (RFE) letter. USCIS issues this letter when the petitioner’s submitted documents are insufficient to prove a biological relationship.
Voluntary DNA testing is considered a reliable form of secondary evidence submission available. Testing before receiving the RFE risks rejection because a proper chain of custody has not yet been established. It should be noted, DNA Testing does not guarantee visa and CRBA issuance.

Yes, the process is exactly the same in terms of scheduling DNA testing appointments for both CRBA and USCIS DNA testing cases.
The only difference between the two is the content of the request for evidence letter.
Will my DNA results be kept private?
Yes, all DNA results are kept private, and results will only be released to the requesting immigration agency and the participants included in the DNA test.
In addition, all DNA samples are kept on file for up to 90 days. After 90 days, all DNA samples are destroyed.
