Has your spouse’s behavior changed unexpectedly? Do you find yourself questioning text messages, phone calls, late nights at work, unexplained absences, or items that do not belong in your home? Feelings of doubt, betrayal, anxiety, anger, and uncertainty can affect every aspect of your daily life. The longer questions remain unanswered, the more difficult it can become to determine what is fact and what is suspicion.
Many people seek answers after discovering biological evidence on bed sheets, undergarments, clothing, hair, or personal belongings. At some point, assumptions alone cannot provide the clarity needed to move forward. Infidelity DNA Testing may help identify the presence of male or female DNA on submitted evidence, allowing you to make informed decisions based on factual information rather than speculation.
IDTO DNA has more than 22 years of experience providing relationship DNA testing and forensic DNA testing services nationwide. Our team helps clients understand their testing options while maintaining confidentiality and professional handling of all submitted samples.

When collecting your sample it is important to carefully outline the area with a marker to ensure the lab accurately extracts DNA from the correct area. Place the sample into a paper envelope and not a Ziploc bag to avoid contamination.

The cost of an infidelity test will depend on the type of sample being used. Pricing starts at $399.99. Choose the testing option base on your circumstance below.

Not sure which infidelity DNA test is right for your situation? Semen Screening is often the recommended starting point when the presence of biological material is unknown. Male/Female DNA Detection may be more appropriate when a stain or biological sample has already been identified. Use our DNA Sample Viability Checker to assess your sample before ordering.
DNA evidence that cannot fit inside the prepaid FedEx return envelope may require special shipping arrangements. Contact IDTO DNA at 888-204-0583 to discuss your evidence and determine the most appropriate testing and shipping option for your specific situation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to receive my results?
The turnaround on average results are completed in 2 to 7 business. Please keep in mind the type of sample being used will determine the turnaround.
Can I use my results for legal purposes?
No. Results from an infidelity testing are for informational use only and cannot be used for any legal reason. In fact using DNA samples without permission from the other party is the reason why this type of test results cannot be used as evidence legally.
We recommend that consult a legal professional regarding the use of another person DNA samples without permission in your state.
Are Home DNA infidelity test kit accurate?
Yes. Home DNA infidelity test kits can provide accurate results when sufficient biological material is present on the submitted item and the DNA sample has been properly collected, handled, and stored before testing.
The accuracy of semen screening and male/female DNA analysis depends on the quantity and condition of the biological material submitted to the laboratory. Factors such as contamination, environmental exposure, heat, moisture, and improper storage may reduce the laboratory’s ability to generate a DNA profile.
Samples collected shortly after the suspected event and stored in a clean, dry environment generally provide the best opportunity for successful DNA analysis. Items exposed to excessive heat, moisture, cleaning products, or repeated handling may contain degraded DNA that limits the laboratory’s ability to reach a conclusive result.
A submitted item may not contain enough viable DNA to generate a DNA profile. In these situations, the laboratory will notify you and provide the option to submit additional evidence for testing. Additional laboratory fees may apply.
Clients who choose not to submit a replacement sample will receive a laboratory report explaining whether sufficient DNA was present and whether a conclusive result could be obtained.
The quality of the evidence submitted remains one of the most important factors affecting the reliability of an infidelity DNA test result.
How long does DNA last on an object?
The lifespan of DNA evidence depends heavily on the environmental conditions the sample is exposed to. Factors like heat, moisture, sunlight, and bacteria growth can all accelerate DNA degradation. Research shows DNA lifespans can vary dramatically from just hours to many thousands of years depending on the circumstances.
Generally, cool and dry conditions allow DNA to persist for longer periods of time. For example, DNA has been recovered from mammoth remains preserved for 4,000-10,500 years in icy conditions. Meanwhile, warmth and humidity hasten the chemical breakdown of genetic material through hydrolysis and oxidation. Sources suggest DNA may only survive for weeks to months in hot, damp environments.
The size of the original sample also affects lifespan, as more genetic material takes longer to completely degrade. Overall, while DNA can potentially persist for millennia if conditions permit, heat, moisture, light exposure, and other factors shorten the window of time useful DNA can be recovered from a crime scene or infidelity testing sample.

Are my DNA results kept private?
Yes. IDTO DNA and its partner laboratory do not share any personal or genetic information with third-party companies.
All information provided to our partner laboratory is kept secure and will only be released to third parties with the explicit consent of the participants involved or by court order. Specimen samples on file are kept for an average of 3 months, then destroyed.
