Immigration DNA Testing in Djibouti

Did you receive a Request for Evidence (RFE)? A timely response is important.

Missing or insufficient documentation is one of the most common reasons families in Djibouti receive a request for additional evidence from USCIS or the U.S. Embassy. When primary evidence is insufficient to establish a claimed biological relationship, immigration DNA testing may be suggested as secondary evidence.

IDTO DNA Testing Center coordinates immigration DNA testing through our AABB-accredited laboratory partner, with results accepted by the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti and USCIS.

With over 22 years of experience and a near-zero sample failure rate at IDTO collection offices, our focus is to help ensure your case progresses efficiently and in full compliance with immigration requirements so your family moves forward, not backward.

How does the DNA Testing process in Djibouti work for U.S. immigration purposes?

Getting started is simple. Below are the steps required to begin your immigration DNA testing process for Djiboutian beneficiaries immigrating to the U.S.

Part 1. Case Initiation
  • Contact our customer support team at 888-204-0583 and let one of our Immigration DNA Consultants assist you with initiating your case.
  • Petitioners or beneficiaries must have received an I-130 Request for Evidence (RFE) to submit secondary additional evidence from USCIS, or a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please note that international DNA specimen collections cannot be requested by the laboratory without the evidence letter.
  • Once the information you provide has been reviewed by the laboratory, the next step in the process is case initiation.

Part 2. Collection Process
  1. After case initiation, a DNA sample collection appointment will be scheduled in the United States for the petitioner. Once the petitioner’s samples are collected, they will be sent to the laboratory to await the beneficiary’s DNA samples before DNA analysis begins.
  2. The laboratory will send a DNA specimen collection request to the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti to schedule the beneficiary’s DNA sample collection appointment. Please note that the embassy or consulate will contact the petitioner or beneficiary by email with instructions confirming the date and time of the beneficiary’s appointment.
  3. Once all DNA specimen samples have arrived at the laboratory, DNA testing will begin.
  4. Upon completion of the results, the laboratory will send the official DNA report directly to the requesting immigration office (USCIS or the U.S. Embassy).

How much does DNA Testing cost for immigration purposes for Djiboutian families?

Pricing starts at $895.00. The cost of your DNA test includes the DNA analysis and international shipping fees.

Please note: DNA sample collection fees are not included in the cost of your genetic test at the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti. The exact DNA specimen collection fee will be provided directly by the embassy or consulate to the petitioner or beneficiary.

All DNA sample collections are coordinated by the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti. DNA specimen collection fees must be paid directly to the embassy’s designated panel physician.

The embassy will email instructions regarding the beneficiary’s DNA sample collection appointment, along with any applicable collection fees, once they become available.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the DNA testing process take to receive my DNA results?

There are no fixed turnaround times because appointment scheduling for beneficiaries in Djibouti is controlled by the U.S. Embassy. In our experience coordinating immigration DNA testing cases, many cases are completed within approximately six to eight weeks, although some cases may require additional time depending on embassy workload and appointment availability.

Once all DNA samples arrive at the laboratory, testing is generally completed within three business days. The laboratory will send the results directly to the requesting immigration agency and provide copies to the petitioner.

How accurate are my DNA Testing results?

All DNA samples are collected and analyzed by our partner AABB-accredited laboratory and meet strict industry standards. DNA test results showing 99.99% accuracy or higher are accepted by USCIS and U.S. consular offices and are used to confirm biological relationships for visa and CRBA applications.

Can I Perform A DNA Test Before Receiving An RFE or Embassy Request?

No. Immigration DNA testing should only begin after receiving a Request for Evidence (RFE) from USCIS or a written request from a U.S. Embassy or U.S. Passport Agency.

DNA tests performed independently before receiving an official request generally do not satisfy immigration chain-of-custody requirements. Performing a test too early can result in additional expenses and delays because the testing process may need to be repeated.

Does DNA testing guarantee visa or CRBA approval?

No. DNA testing is considered a secondary evidence option used to help establish a claimed biological relationship when primary evidence is insufficient. The final decision regarding visa or CRBA issuance rests with USCIS or the consular officer assigned to the case.

Are CRBA and USCIS DNA testing performed the exact same way?

Yes. The scheduling process for CRBA and USCIS immigration DNA testing is the same.

The only difference between the two is the type of government request letter initiating the DNA testing process.

Will my DNA results be kept private?

Yes. All DNA results remain confidential and are released only to the requesting immigration agency and the participants included in the DNA test.

DNA samples are retained by the laboratory for up to 90 days. After that period, they are securely destroyed.
