New York Resident Restrictions:
Please note that New York State (NYS) residents cannot perform non-legal DNA tests due to New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines. In NYS, only legal DNA testing is permitted, and it requires a prescription referral from a doctor licensed in the state

What is method of sample collection for mobile collections?
The standard method of collection is performed by cheek swabs. Blood samples are a secondary viable sample collection option that is more expensive, invasive and painful.
Alternative samples that are collected on location are hair follicles. This forensic sample option is performed on deceased persons at funeral homes or the coroners office.

How long does it take to receive your DNA results from mobile testing?
Result turnaround times for both legal and non-legal tests is 2 to 3 business days from the date lab receives all genetic samples.
Once testing is completed a copy of your results will be mailed to your home and additional copy will be emailed to you.
Can my results be used for legal purpose?
Yes. DNA collection performed onsite can be performed for legal DNA testing purposes.
Are mobile DNA Test results accurate?
Yes. The testing process performed by our partner AABB-accredited DNA laboratory produces highly accurate results. All samples are analyzed between 18 to 22 genetic markers.
Our DNA sample collectors have over 20 years of combined experience and play an important role in ensuring samples are collected correctly. Their attention to detail enhances the laboratory’s ability to generate a complete DNA profile for effective analysis.
Please note: In rare cases where a sample collection error occurs, IDTO DNA will recollect your samples at no additional cost, at our discretion.
Can mobile collections be performed in different locations?
Yes. We can schedule mobile collection appointments at two locations. Please note that additional fees will apply for the second location.
Are my DNA results confidential?
Yes. Your DNA results are kept confidential. Results will only be released to the individuals directly involved with DNA testing for paternity
Please note that IDTO and its partner laboratory do not share your DNA information with third-party companies. Furthermore, DNA samples are destroyed within 30 to 60 days after your DNA test is completed.
